In a recent Facebook interaction, director Srinath Rajendran was quizzed about the same by a netizen and the former confirmed that he does have plans for a sequel. He also added that it will take some time for such a project to materialize.
Dulquer's Kurup has taken the highest opening for a Malayalam film worldwide. The film had a phenomenal run during its opening weekend and going by the bookings for the week days, it seems like the film will have a steady run in the upcoming weeks as well.
The crime saga ‘Kurup’ tells the tale of a conman who murdered a man named Chacko in 1984, and used the corpse to subsequently fake his own death to claim insurance money. Dulquer Salmaan plays the title character Sukumara Kurup, who has evaded police capture for nearly four decades. Apart from Dulquer Salman, the cast includes Indrajit Sukumaran, Sunny Wayne, Shine Tom Chacko, Shobhita Dhulipala, and Bharath Srinivasan in key roles. 'Kurup', directed by Srinath Rajendran, is jointly produced by Wayfarer Films of Dulquer Salman along with M-Star Entertainments.
