Megastar Mammootty-Parvathy starrer much-awaited crime thriller 'Puzhu' directed by Ratheena, has cleared censors with a ‘U’ certificate and is set for a direct premiere on OTT platform. The big announcement was made by Mammootty's son and actor Dulquer Salmaan himself through his official Facebook handle. Sharing a poster featuring Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan penned, “Puzhu censored with clean U certificate.”

Soon the post was flooded with comments from fans who were all the way excited to hear an update from the movie.Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films is backing the film jointly with S George’s Cyn-Cyl Celluloid. Even though Dulquer Salmaan has become a regular film producer, this is the first time he is part of his dad's film. Meanwhile, Puzhu has already generated a strong buzz considering the first-time team-up of Mammootty and Parvathy. Also, this is for the first time Mammootty is launching a woman director through 'Puzhu'. The movie also stars Athmiya Rajan, and Vasudev Sajeesh Marar in important roles.

The movie is jointly written by Harshad and the screenwriter duo Suhas-Sharfu. The duo is known for their work in acclaimed films like Varathan and Virus. Theni Eshwar cranked the camera while Deepu Joseph edited it. Jakes Bejoy handles the film’s soundtrack.
