Streaming platforms gained great momentum since the beginning of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Web series are the big players in the digital medium. These shows have high production value on par with high budget movies. Now, a south Indian superstar is all set to make his OTT debut in an upcoming web series.

Dulquer Salmaan is a star pan-Indian actor originating from the Malayalam film industry. The latest hot news is that DQ will mark his digital debut with a Netflix series titled 'Guns & Gulaab', helmed by the popular filmmakers, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK of 'The Family Man' fame, also known as Raj & DK. Apart from Dulquer Salmaan, Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gourav will also star in the upcoming show.

An industry source revealed, "Dulquer Salmaan has been offered multiple web films and shows in the past two years. But he rejected them all as he wasn’t satisfied with the subjects that were coming his way. He was looking for a certain kind of project to mark his OTT debut and Raj & DK’s offer had it all. It’s a big-scale, intriguing thriller peppered with the usual Raj & DK comic undertones and revolves around three lead characters. Salmaan plays one of the lead roles in this comedy-thriller series, alongside Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gourav."

According to the buzz, Guns & Gulaabs is a period romantic crime thriller set in the 90s laced with humour that depicts a love story set in the background of a violent world of crime. It is being reported that the show’s shoot schedule has already begun in Dehradun and will be wrapped by March-end. Dulquer came on board after Diljit Dosanjh couldn’t join the series due to date issues.
