Mollywood's sensation Dulquer Salmaan is all set to make his debut in Tollywood by playing the role of the legendary Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan in the Savithri biopic, 'Mahanati'. After months of pre-production work, the film finally went on floors at a studio in Hyderabad on Monday.

The movie which revolves around Savithri's personal life and her acting career will also capture the tragic episodes in her life. Directed by Nag Ashwin, 'Mahanati' will feature Dulquer Salmaan playing the different phases of Ganesan, for which he will be sporting multiple looks.

Titled 'Mahanati' in Telugu and 'Nadigaiyar Thilagam' in Tamil, the movie also has Keerthy Suresh, Samantha, Vijay Devarakonda and Prakash Raj playing several prominent roles. Though the movie has started rolling, the team is yet to announce who would play the roles of Telugu cinema legends NTR and ANR. Stay tuned!
