Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan had last acted in the movie Varane Avashyamund, which was also the actor's first production venture in his Wayfarer films and the movie also starred Shobana, Suresh Gopi and Kalyani Priyadarshan.
After a successful run in theatres, the movie was released on Netflix yesterday, and following this, it was observed by a reporter that her photos were used in a scene of the movie which body shamed her. The reporter had tweeted "Dear @dulQuer @DQsWayfarerFilm Thank you for the feature in your film but I’d like you to excuse me from body-shaming on a public forum. The concerned image was used without my consent & knowledge in your film. I’d like to claim ownership of the same. #VaraneAvashyamund".
Responding immediately to the tweet, Dulquer apologized for the error and later, the director of the movie Anoop Sathyan also spoke with the reporter, apologizing and resolving the issue. Dulquer had tweeted "We take full responsibility for the error on our behalf. Will look into it with concerned departments of the film to understand how the images were sourced. I apologise from my end and from the film as well as @DQsWayfarerFilm for any difficulties caused. It wasnt intentional."
