Nandita Das and Shafi (of ‘Chatrapathi’ fame) who are acting as wife and husband in the film Kamli has completed the shooting, editing and dubbing works at the same time.

National Award Winning Director K.N.T.Shastry (of Thiladaanam fame) said, “The re-recording of the film will start this week itself. The first copy of the film will be ready by August 2nd week. Lyricist Sudhala Ashok Teja has written three excellent songs and there are three more songs in Lambadi dialect in the film. The audio cassettes of the film will be released shortly. I should thank the producers Haricharanprasad and Sukanya of Apoorva Chitra Productions for coming forward to produce such an outstanding and arty film”.

Actor Shafi said, “I am extremely lucky to be part of the film and the director K.N.T.Shastry, who won National award for the film ‘Thiladaanam’. My role is filled with realistic connotations. I am pleased to act with Nandita Das, who is nationally renowned for her acting flair. Director K.N.T.Shastry has shot the scenes involving Nandita Das and me in a practical and down-to-earth way”.

Tanikella Bharani, Rupa, L.B.Sriram, Kota Shankararao, Ashalatha and others complete the star cast. Dialogues are by Kashibatla Venugopal and cinematography is by Sunny Joseph. Music is by Isaac Thomas Kottukapalli. The story, screenplay and direction are by K.N.T.Shastry.
