Renowned dubbing artist A Srinivasa Murthy passed away earlier today. He is one of the most sought-after dubbing artists in India. Murthy acquired fame for dubbing for Suriya and many other popular non-Telugu actors.

Murthy started out in the 1990s. The Arjun-starrer 'Oke Okkadu' was a breakout film for him. Murthy also dubbed for Vikram, Tamil superstar Ajith, among others.

Movies dubbed from Malayalam saw his voice being used for Mohan Lal, among others. He also dubbed for Sandalwood star Upendra.

Murthy acquired popularity in the Telugu film industry after the release of Vikram's 'Aparichitudu'. Dubbing with three variations for the hero was quite a task. He did it with ease. Suriya's 'Singham' also fetched him fame. For Ajith, he dubbed for 'Viswasam' and other recent movies. Madhavan's 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' was among his last movies. He dubbed for Maddy even in the 2000 movie 'Sakhi'.

Murthy was approached for character artists as well. He voiced for Jayaram in 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo', among others.

Murthy's father AVN Murthy was a playback singer before his retirement. In an interview last year, he revealed that his father faced lots of financial troubles for many years even after entering the film industry.
