In the new year, dubbed films have come in a good number than usual. What is striking is that most of them are bid-budgeted fares and prestigious projects. It began with Yuganiki Okkadu, a Rs. 30 cr. film by Sri Raghava, starring Karthi, Reema Sen and Parthiban. The film was released in January.

It has been followed by Siddharth-starrer Striker, which is a Hindi original. The film did not see wide release in Telugu. In the film, our 'chocolate boy' plays a carrom player, who likes to gamble his way to windfall money-making. Critics have called it as a film that has struck new ground, but sadly in Telugu, it didn't get noticed.

It will soon be seconded by Vishal-starrer Khiladi and Vijay-starrer Dopidi in the same month. While Vishal will be seen as a 'cow boy' in the film, that's for the first time, Vijay will be seen with Trisha in the 'rob-the-rich-guy' story, obviously titled Dopidi.

The budget of all these films is expected to be around Rs. 60 cr., if not more. Two of them have already been judged, while the other two are yet to hit the marquee.
