Movie enthusiasts eagerly anticipate festivals, envisioning a celebration not only adorned with new clothes and sweets but also enriched by the magic of the latest films. Tollywood aficionados, renowned for their passion for diverse cinema, especially prioritize their local heroes' releases during festive seasons.
This Diwali, however, brought a tinge of disappointment as the offerings included only dubbed films. The lineup comprises Karthi's milestone 25th film, "Japan," Suryah and Raghava Lawrence's "Jigarthanda Double X," and the small-budget gem "Deepavali," along with Salman Khan's much-anticipated "Tiger 3." Small Telugu film Ala Ninnu Cheri is releasing on 11 November but there are no takers for it.
Karthi's "Japan," directed by Raju Murugan, is a focal point with heightened expectations, featuring Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead. Scheduled for release on November 10, 2023, it marks a significant milestone in Karthi's illustrious career.
"Jigarthanda Double X," the sequel to the hit film, directed by Karthik Subbaraj and starring Raghava Lawrence and Suyah SJ, adds an intriguing dimension to the Diwali movie lineup. The film, set to hit screens on November 10, 2023, is generating substantial buzz.
The underdog of the lot, "Deepavali," produced by Sravanti Ravi Kishore, has been turning heads after receiving accolades at various international film festivals. Scheduled for release on November 11, this small film is capturing the curiosity of cinephiles.
Salman Khan's magnum opus, "Tiger 3," directed by Maneesh Sharma, is the Diwali grand finale, hitting theaters on November 12. Boasting a stellar cast with Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi, the film promises added excitement with powerful cameos by Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan.
While "Tiger 3" stands out with colossal expectations, fueled by Salman's commanding presence, Katrina's towel fight, and the star-studded cameos, the reception for "Japan" and "Jigarthanda Double X" remains uncertain. Karthi's recent Tollywood outings, "Sardar" and "Ponniyin Selvan," faced challenges, and Lawrence's previous venture, "Chandramukhi 2," fell short of expectations. Nonetheless, the festive season is sure to bring its share of surprises and cinematic delights.
