After 'Happy New Year', none of the new releases has done well at the box office. In fact November has turned out to be one of the poorest ever for Bollywood in last few years. Hence, all eyes are on the first release of December, 'Action Jackson', to bring in some revival of sorts for the industry. It is pretty much required as well since good run for a film only fetches audience for the next that hits the screens. Now since sentiments amongst audience have been so disturbed for last few weeks that it is ending up impacting even the opening day of so many films where there are no footfalls being registered whatsoever.

All of this means that the opening of the Ajay Devgn-Sonakshi Sinha starrer is being awaited with bated breath. A lot is riding on the film, also due to the fact that it is a Prabhu Dheva directed affair. The filmmaker has delivered four successes in a row (Wanted, Rowdy Rathore, Ramaiya Vastavaiya, R... Rajkumar) and has accumulated a fan base of his own now. Moreover, the action theme of the film means there is a definite set of audience already awaiting the film.

The film is being given a huge release by Eros which means even a start of 50%-60% would spell good news for it, as the collections would be pretty good. Moreover, since it is a solo notable release of the week and there is no major release next week either, the film has an entire fortnight available to make merry. As always, it boils down to the content eventually and if that is even just good, if not excellent, industry could well see a recovery of sorts with Action Jackson.

Meanwhile, international film 'Bhopal: A Prayer For Rain' is also hitting the screens but since it appears more as a festival outing, there isn't much expected at the box office in terms of footfalls.
