'Drushyam 2', which was expected to hit the screens after 'Narappa' this year, is now eyeing a direct OTT release. The thriller, starring Venkatesh as the hero, will stream on Disney+Hotstar.

Producers D Suresh Babu, Antony Perumbavoor and Rajkumar Sethupathi have cemented a lucrative direct-to-streamer release with the OTT giant. The film's satellite rights have been sold to Star Maa for an upbeat rate.

Starring Meena as Venkatesh's wife, the film was launched in the first week of March. Venky and team shot for the thriller and completed it in 40 days under the aegis of Mollywood filmmaker Jeethu Joseph.

Also featuring Nadhiya and senior Naresh, it has Esther Anil in a key role. Anup Rubens and Satheesh Kurup are its music director and director of photography, respectively.

Meanwhile, there are rumours that 'Narappa', the other Venky biggie, will stream on Amazon Prime from July 26. The news is yet to be confirmed. If 'Drushyam 2' is a remake of 'Drishyam 2' (Malayalam), 'Narappa' is a remake of 'Asuran' (Tamil).
