Back in 2017, some Tollywoodians were interrogated by a Special Investigation Team formed by the Telangana government to investigate their suspected involvement in substance abuse. It was famously referred to as Tollywood drugs case. Ravi Teja, Puri Jagannadh, Charmme, Tharun, among others, were grilled for hours by the SIT.
The news is that none of the Tollywoodians has been charge-sheeted by the SIT, which has filed four charge-sheets in the case so far. The actors and other film industry personalities have been given a clean chit by the SIT. This has been revealed by an RTI. "At least 62 individuals associated either directly or indirectly with Tollywood were questioned for hours. Strands of hair, nails, etc of some of them were taken by the authorities for examination. Turns out that every one of them has been given a clean chit. Only those with whom drugs were found have been booked," a report says.
Subburaju, Tanish, Shyam K Naidu, Chinna, Mumaith Khan, Srinivas (Ravi Teja's driver), Nandu and others must be heaving a sigh of relief.
