Drishyam
After two big hits in a row, young director Jeethu Jospeh is joining Mohanlal for the first time in the new movie 'Drishyam' (View). A family thriller, the movie packs in some moments that sis sure to enthral the viewers. Mohanlal is Georgekutty, an orphan, who has only passed class four. He started his life as a farmer and earned a five acres of land through hard work. Now an aggressive business man he is , his hard work made him the proprietor of a number of enterprises. He used to run a video library, is now a real estate broker and also manages the local cable TV unit. Thrifty and ambitious, he hopes to buy the local cinema theatre some day soon. He lives with his understanding but ambitious wife, Rani (Meena) and two daughters Anju (Ansiba), a Plus Two student, and Anu (Esther), a student of class eight, in a high range village in Idukki. At a certain point in their life, an unexpected event affects the family in a crucial way. Georgekutty starts to feel that all his dreams are devastated. The film narrates how he with the help of his family overcome the crisis. 'Drishyam ' is also the comeback film of Meena after a long time.Also in the cast are Kalabhavan Shajon,Sidhhique, Asha Sharath,Irshad, Roshan Basheer,Neeraj Madhav,Baiju V.K,Balaji,Sreekumar P,Koottickal Jayachandran and Kunchan.Sujith Vasudev is the cinematographer while Vinu Thomas and Anil Johnson are the music directors. With Mohanlal back to his earthy roles , clad in a Mundu, the character is expected to work well with the masses. Drishyam is being produced under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas and is pegged as a Christmas release. |
