Director Naveen made his debut in Tamil cinema with the dark comedy Moodar koodam, which was released in 2013. The movie starring Naveen himself, Rajaj, Sendrayan and Oviya was critically acclaimed.

Naveen has directed another movie Alavudeenum Arputha Cameravum starring himself and Anandhi as the lead pair and is currently directing the multistarrer Agni Siragugal starring Vijay Antony, Arun Vijay and Akshara Haasan.

Even as the movie's shoot has been on hold due to the lockdown, Naveen who's active on Twitter has shared a drawing he made when he was studying 8th standard, and asked netizens to guess who was in the art. Many had predicted it as Aishwarya Rai and some even guessed it to be Amala, and lots of netizens are amazed by this hidden artistic talent of Naveen.
