After Kendrick Lamar used Drake's Toronto house in his most recent diss track against the rapper, a drive-by shooting left a security guard injured.
Drake's opulent Park Lane Circle home in the city's affluent Bridle Path neighbourhood was the scene of the altercation on Tuesday about 2 am ET. Toronto police said that an unknown attacker shot the guard who was stationed outside the property gates. Updates from Toronto Police Service state that the suspect drove off the site.
Unnamed as of right now, the guard was found unconscious when police arrived after suffering a chest gunshot wound. He was hurried to a hospital for emergency care.
Drake's crew is allegedly helping the investigation, even though it's unknown if he was there when the incident happened. Tensions between the two musicians sparked by Kendrick Lamar's diss rap directed at Drake preceded the incident. Following Lamar's release, followers dubbed portions of Drake's neighborhood after the rival rapper on Google Maps.
Drake and Lamar's simmering rivalry intensified last month when the two musicians traded diss tunes. Paul Krawczyk of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force of the police agency said that the reason for the shooting is still being looked into.
