The latest hardship to Dr Vishnuvardhana Memorial that is all set for foundation stone laying by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would not hamper the decided event on 30th of December – 5th death anniversary of actor.
Dr Shalini Rajanish, chief secretary to Karnataka government Kannada and culture has clarified that the place allotted to Dr Vishnu Memorial does not belong to Forest department. Bangalore South Kengeri near Mailasandra village Survey No.22, 2 acres of land is free from all hassles. In one and half years time the memorial would come up at a cost of Rs.11 crores.
In an emergency media address the intelligent secretary Dr Shalini Rajanish stated that 2 acres of land has been acquired in right way. It is adjacent to forest department and not belong to it. Nothing has been overlooked in this aspect she clarified as the case regarding this PIL (public interest litigation) is coming up in the court on 30th of December for hearing.
Further explaining on the total land in and around 2 acres Dr Shalini Rajanish stated that Survey No.22 has 108 acres and 6 Gunta of land. 78 acres and 18 Gunta was reserved. In that in 1935 Mysore Maharaja has set aside and 29.28 acres of land was marked for public purpose. The reserved land of 78.18 acres is now the government of Karnataka has allotted 2 acres for Dr Vishnuvardhana Memorial. In this allotment the Forest department has also been informed. We have kept 30 days for rising objections in this allotment. Nothing has come so far. It means the way is clear for allotment pointed the bureaucrat.
