It is a great tribute to the departed soul of Dr Vishnuvardhana today. Nagarahavu` is his debut film in doyen of Kannada cinema SR Puttanna Kanagal direction 44 years ago. Dr Ambarish also made debut in that film as villain. It was in 2002 Upendra starring Nagarahavu` with Jyothika as heroine was produced by Rockline Venkatesh.
The third time Nagarahavu` title coming on Kannada screen is nothing but a rich tribute to departed actor. Bringing in Dr Vishnu was one of the toughest tasks of this film team headed by Kodi Ramakrishna. The head replacement tactics on the table has been a daunting task that consumed over a year and Rs.15 crores for the team. It was Sajid Quereshi producer of the film suggested the name of icon of Kannada cinema Dr Vishnuvardhana strong force in the climax to the director Kodi Ramakrishna. Kodi in fact narrated a script to Dr Vishnuvardhana when he was living. He thought of materializing his dream at this moment of his professional career.
Like how it was a fantastic debut for Dr Vishnuvardhana 44 years ago, it is ever green cinema in Kannada filmdom. The recent film of rocking star Yash made Mr and Mrs Ramachari` super hit film with the character played by Dr Vishnuvardhana in Nagarahavu` by debut director Santosh Ananda Ram.
Kichcha Sudeep pride of Kannada cinema had influence of Dr Vishnuvardhana in two of his films recently. One film was titled as Vishnuvardhana` and the other one Kotigobba 2` was also title of Dr Vishnuvardhana film.
The under production Srikanta` trailer of Dr Shivarajakumar has also the popular song Havina Vesha hanneradu Varusha….portion plus Dr Shiv lifting left hand like how Dr Vishnu used to do. All these makes the actor living even after his demise.
The biggest element of this Nagarahavu` is that the entire Kannada cinema industry has backed it. The fans of Dr Vishnu, Sudeep, Darshan and Ramya are sure to grab tickets. That makes the investment safe for PEN Movies Sajid Quereshi.
