Some of the miscreants in Bangarappa Nagar in Rajajeswari Nagar lit a file on the cloth covered statue of Dr Rajakumar and that resulted in tension in Bangalore.

Dr Rajakumar Fans Association objected to this last Wednesday night incident and demanded police to take immediate action on culprits.

Raj Seva Samithi obtained prior permission to put up a statue of Dr Rajakumar at Bangarappanagara bus station. The statue of Dr Rajakumar was all set to inaugurate in a fortnight time. The cement structure was built around the statue.

The statue of Dr Rajakumar was covered in a cloth. The miscreants poured petrol and lit fire. The incident of tormenting the statue of Dr Rajakumar was noticed around 4 am on Thursday. The different associations like Jaya Karnataka, Kuvempu Kshemabivruddi, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Dr Rajakumar Abhimanigala Sangha members in thousands thronged the place. That created tension and police had hectic time.

A dog squad was also brought to the place and finger print experts took the pictures to trace the culprits.

Meanwhile there was divergent view on the place where the statue in plaster of parries was set up. It belonged to a temple says a few. Others claim the place belong to BBMP.

The statue was set for inauguration on 23rd of this month.
