Padmasri Dr Girish Kasaravalli latest film ‘Koormavathara’ based on Kum Veerabhadrappa novel has bagged two more awards.

At the Madrid (Spain) international film festival Kannada film of Dr GK – Koormavathara was screened and it bagged the best film award for direction and Shikaripura Krishnamurthy gets the best actor award at Imagine India International Festival.

At the same festival in 2011 Dr GK film ‘Kanasembo Kudureyeneri’ of Umasri and Vyjyanath Biradar was screened. Vyjyanath Biradar got the award for his performance.

When ‘Gulabi Talkies’ was screened at international level Umasri got best actress award at Osian's Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema 2008 (Umasri present Minister of Karnataka state had won the state award and national award for the same film Gulabi Talkies), in 2011 at the international level Vyjyanath Biradar and in 2013 Shikaripura Krishnamurthy gets the international award.
