People trading on a busy morning were in for a quick shock as they watched the giant screens at Dow Jones report news of tech giant Google buy out Apple for $9 billion. Even though the market was not impacted due to this news as many were able to judge the zero reality, it did make a buzz on twitter.
Dow Jones later apologized and mentioned that it was a technical error that lead to this situation and requested all media agencies to disregard the news. Many followers assumed Dow Jones had been hacked, however the official confirmation put the matter to ease. When asked about what lead to this misinterpretation, the spokesman mentioned that the news published this morning “were accidentally published as part of a technology test” and “were never intended for publication.”
