'Double-meaning song' remembered as CBFC chief sacked

As Pahlaj Nihalani gets to be shunted out of CBFC, a song from a 1994 Hindi film he produced has been remembered sarcastically by his critics.
The film, titled 'Andaz', featured a song titled 'Khada Hai'. No prizes for guessing what the words 'khada hai' were thought to have cryptically suggested. They obviously meant an erection experienced by the husband (played by Anil Kapoor) even as his wife (played by Juhi Chawla) starves him of sex that fateful night.
That a Pahlaj production featured such an in-your-face number is rather ironical. As the chief of the censor board, he objected to a rather straightforward word like 'Intercourse' in Shah Rukh's 'Jab Harry Met Sejal', and created other avoidable controversies.
"I hope I am remembered as the CBFC chairperson who took a firm stand against vulgarity and pseudo-liberalism, no matter how unpopular it made me," the ousted veteran has said.
