Director G Nageswara Reddy is unhappy that 'Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL' has received poor ratings in reviews. At a presser, he has lashed out at reviewers.
"I have never claimed that 'Tenali' is a 'Sankarabharanam'. The film is a comedy entertainer. Who are these film critics to rate a comedy? This is not an Oscar-worthy movie. If you are capable of making great movies, do it. Go watch our movie in theatres. You will be surprised to see how much the audience are enjoying," Reddy said.
"Distributors have told me that the audience are enjoying 'Tenali' thoroughly. They watch movies by paying money, unlike critics who don't spend anything to write their reviews. If you don't like a movie, leave it. Don't curse it," he added.
"So many lives are dependent on the Friday talk of a movie. Nowadays, even illiterate people are going by film ratings. Don't kill cinema. Some recent movies which didn't get good ratings went on to make Rs 60 Cr. Their success is a slap on the face of critics," the director signed off.
