Nandini Reddy has been much in the news for speculative reasons. The filmmaker has been rumoured to be in talks with this or that actor for this or that project. For once, the 'Oh Baby' actress is in the news for a different reason.
The director has wondered why she is always described as a 'lady director' by the Tollywood media. This kind of gendered language is not appreciated by a lot of people. Nobody calls Rajamouli or VV Vinayak 'male director'.

In her social media post, the 'Ala Modalaindi' maker quipped that journalists can instead write 'Nandini Reddy', which too is of 12 characters length, much like 'lady director'. She suggested that gendered demarcation is uncalled for.
A lot of media guys use the term 'lady director' in the headline for reasons that have to do with clickbait journalism. At times, they also use the term in the actual news story. Whichever way you look at it, it's nothing but sexist language.
On the work front, the 'Kalyana Vaibhogame' director's last project was a segment that she directed for Netflix's 'Pitta Kathalu'. Starring Jagapathi Babu and Amala Paul, it was the most thrilling part of the anthology.
