"It's important to educate as many people as we can in our attempt to normalize mental illness and be a part of educating people to understand the importance of wellness. It's an increasingly stressful world," the 'Yashoda' actress said.
"It's becoming increasingly difficult to speak about our issues. No one's life is perfect. It's time for people like us, people like me, to speak beyond glitz and glamour. It's normal for all of us to go through lows," the 'Shaakuntalam' actress exhorted.
Shen then touched upon her personal life. "I have gone through a difficult time in my life. I have sought help from my friends and well-wishers. It made a huge difference. Many people helped me in becoming strong," the 'Majili' star said.
Samantha added, "Normalize our lows, normalize asking for help. We go to the doctor when we have a broken leg. And we have to go to a doctor when we have a broken heart. When you are going through a low phase, it's not going to be okay to be mum. Seek help. There are people who are willing to help."
