'Dongodochadu', the Telugu version of 'Thiruttu Payale-2', is an erotic thriller starring Amala Paul, Bobby Simha and Prasanna in main roles. Its audio was released in Hyderabad at an event held on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the makers described 'Dongodochadu' as a universal film that will appeal to all sections of audiences.
Director Susi Ganesan said, "This is my first film to release in Telugu since 'Mallanna'. I sincerely thank Kalpathi S. Aghoram garu, the producer, who is the main behind this canvas. Coming to the film, it's quite contemporary. It explores the negative side of social media. Every character is grey in this film. What happens when different individuals are caught in a difficult situation is what is the crux. While being very useful, technology has made us vulnerable. Intrusion into our private lives is now very easy. We strongly believe that the content of 'Dongodochadu' will appeal to one and all. I am proud of my actors Amala Paul, Bobby Simha and Prasanna, all of whom had a healthy competition among themselves. You will see a lot of shades to their acting. Amala has done really well, and she is subtle. Prasanna has been completely transformed, and he is the villain of the piece. My films don't fit into a particular genre. It holds good for this film, too. The hero of the day is Vidyasagar (music director). I have been listening to his melodies. He is a melody king. His songs are a wonderful experience. The RR is the film's backbone."
Cameraman P Chelladurai said, "I am very glad to have got to work with this great team. 'Dongodochadu' is a different film for me. It was a pleasure to team up with Bobby Simha, who has won a National Award."
Amala Paul said, "I always feel very happy whenever I am in Hyderabad. There is so much of love and warmth that people here show me. The hero of the evening, our music director, is quite special. He is my lucky charm, I must say. He composed the music for two of my special films in Malayalam, both of which were big hits. And with 'Dongodochadu', I hope I will score a hit in both Tamil and Telugu. This is my second project with AGS Entertainment. I have a huge respect for Susi Ganesan. This one will go down as one of my best films ever and a great learning experience personally. There indeed was a very healthy competition between Prasanna, Bobby Simha and me. 'Dongodochadu' has the potential to take us to the next level."
Prasanna, who will be seen in Sai Dharam Tej's 'Jawaan' as the main villain, said, "I am very happy to be here. Fifteen years ago, I was only dreaming of becoming an actor. When I was trying to make a foray into films, it was Susi sir who opened the door for me. Working once again with him on this film is like life coming full circle. As for Vidyasagar sir, it's a privilege to do a film whose music has been composed by him. I don't have any song though. But I hope that there will come a day when I will do the lip sync for a song of his."
Bobby Sinha said, "When I listened to the script, the first question I put to the director is about his homework. He has done such an amazing research. 'Dongodochadu' is a universal film which defies landscapes and nativities. It's an eye-opening subject. Susi sir makes his actors think of a new approach to doing the scenes. He is a good teacher. Vidyasagar garu's music and the superb visuals are going to be loved by one and all. I also thank my executive producer, Venkat Markandeya garu. My co-star, Amala Paul, is a supportive and sportive co-star. I was very shy about doing romantic scenes. She understands her co-actors' problems so well. Prasanna has brought out the negative shades of his character so really well with his modulations. This is my one more release in Telugu after 'Pizza', 'Chikkadu Dorakadu', 'Run' and 'Metro'. When the subject was told to me, I felt that this film should be done in Telugu as well."
Vidyasagar said, "Director Susi Ganesan is a very farsighted creator. He knows how to depict the emotions. I got to work with such a talent after a long time. His perspective about music is distinct. He gave me one or two suggestions for a number. It was a revelation to me as I myself didn't know I had the capacity to do it. This film's instrumentation is so different that you are going to remember the relevant instrument whenever you will listen to a song that uses the instrument in future. 'Dongodochadu' is a thriller and a romantic love story. I thank Vennelakanti for the excellent lyrics. He has penned the lines in such a way that the lip sync is not affected."
The makers are planning to release the film in the second week of December.
