Ramgopal Varma who made Dongalamuttha in record number of four and a half days and released it in 33 days ever since the inception of the project, announced that his movie is a superhit.

Varma declared that though they shot this film on a Cannon 5D camera and not the regular Super 35 cam, not a single member from the audience found out the difference. He said that most of the audience were happy with the visuals despite shooting it in a still camera.

He claimed that there are two parameters to measure a 'hit'. The first one is how much a producer spent in making the film, how much the distributor bought it for and how much they got back. But since in this case producers didn't spend more than Rs 6 lakh and the distribution rights were not sold, everything they got is a profit.

The second parameter is says is comparing the collections of this movie to the last movie of the hero. He also released the table chart comparing Raviteja's Mirapakayi with this movie. Mirapakay was made in 8 months as against 33 days of Dongalamutaa and was made with Rs 14 crore as against Rs 6 lakh for this flick. He concluded that after the first day show, Mirapakay needed 90 per cent more collections to break even while in the case of Dongalamutaa the movie turned out to be a hit in the very first show.
