Despite his 2020 defeat and despite the setback he suffered in the recent US mid-term elections, Donald Trump is not resting. He is in a "Republican veera levara" mode.
In his address today, Trump said, "In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States."
Tearing into Joe Biden, Trump thundered that the US was great two years ago and it will be great again soon.
Trump's supporters are busy cheering him. "Under President Trump, we had border security, energy independence, and a booming economy. President Trump kept his campaign promise to defend Life and deliver a pro-life majority on the Supreme Court," tweeted Mary Miller, the Congresswoman for Illinois 15.
On the other hand, his critics are ripping him apart for the new bid. "Twice-impeached, disgraced former President Donald Trump, who led a terrorist attack against the U.S. Capitol to try to overthrow our government, has announced he is running for president from the crime scene in which he stole and hid our nation's top secret documents," wrote a commentator who tweets at Meidas Touch.
