'DON' update - Great numbers from US too

  • IndiaGlitz, [Wednesday,October 25 2006]

Just yesterday we had reported about how 'Don' had made a killing in UK with a £288,000 opening weekend. There is more good news since as per Tuesday morning, box-office gross of 'Don' stood at approx £395,000, implying that the first week will close at a figure in excess of £0.5million. Even in the US, according to Variety Online, 'Don' grossed a staggering $805,000 on its opening weekend on 113 engagements.

Now the makers of 'Don' and its overseas distributors are having the last laugh! Despite mixed reviews (customary for any big film!), this mega Shah Rukh Khan-starrer has rocked the overseas box-office.

These numbers are special because in spite of being a thriller [not a typical overseas genre], it’s opening and subsequent performance in the overseas territories has been simply superb.

Watch out for more updates.
