Don Muthuswami
In an era of mindless comedy comes another movie which promises to tickle your funny bone until you cry for mercy.
Bombay was ruled by smugglers and gangsters in the early 70s, one of them was Don Muthuswami (Mithun Chakravarthy).
However when Don comes to pay last respect to his dying father, he slaps him and says how he has brought disgrace to his family by following the wrong path.
His father wants him to leave all the dirty work and live a better life. Following his fathers final wish, Don Muthuswami tries to transform into a gentlemen. Thus the drama begins.
Muthuswami asks all his henchmen to continue working for him but not as gangsters but for a social cause. Being a South Indian with poor language skills he hires the service of a Hindi/Urdu teacher Jaikishen (Mohit Raina) to improve his language.
The story gets intriguing when the problem of marriage of Don's daughter Sanjana (Hrishita Bhatt) arises. According to Muthu the best match for her is a very good friend and gangster's son Pradhan. However Sanjana does not like her and refuses to marry him lying that she is pregnant. To add to the confusion Preetam (Rohit Roy) who is Muthu's general manager is in love with Sanjana. He has been stealing from the Don to make himself a millionaire.
Enter Ranjana (Anusmriti) who confesses to Muthu that she is in love with his general manager Preetam and had lied to him about being Muthu's daughter.
And to complicate it further Sanjana and Jaikishen fall in love and want to get married.
What happens in this chaos and confusion of this seemingly mindless comedy is yet to be seen. Only time can tell whether this Don rules the box office or dies a sordid death.
