In Bollywood flicks, time and again one has seen an underdog character rising up to the challenge by learning English language in quick time and come up trumps in the face of adversity. While that is in reel life, it was a tad different scenario in real life for Tusshar Kapoor when it came to speaking Punjabi.

"This happened during the making of Shashant A Shah’s 'Bajatey Raho' which has a Punjabi backdrop, set in Delhi which demanded all the characters to change their overall body language and mannerisms in order to get the perfect Delhi flavour.

Though Tusshar did get it right for the limited duration that he had to face the camera, his discomfort with the language did have a little bearing.

The pranksters that Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey (his co-stars in the film) are, they started pulling Tusshar's legs by conversing with him in Punjabi even when the camera wasn't rolling," informed a source. Initially Tusshar tried to play along but when it started getting overboard, he decided to avoid the situation by simply smiling.

What the prankster duo had missed in the bargain was the motherly bond that Dollyji had developed towards Tusshar while shooting. Hence, after repetitively witnessing these incidences, Dollyji decided to take charge of the situation and give it back to the duo in their own way. "Dollyji has become very fond of Tusshar and started giving him a crash course in Punjabi post shoots on daily basis.

Sometimes these lessons went on for 4 - 5 hours. They really enjoyed each other’s company and in fact after a point of time Tusshar started acknowledging Dollyji as Mummyji in their normal conversations as well. As a result of this, over a period of 10-12 days it was time for a filmy moment for all those involved as Tusshar, after feeling mighty confident, walked straight into the sets where Vinay and Ranvir were casually chatting," said a unit member, "Looking at Tusshar, both of them started to talk to him in Punjabi again.

However, Tusshar was prepared in advance and before it could turn into a one sided affair again; he jumped in with full fervour and came up with a full three minute long speech in Punjabi leaving the audience stunned." It was akin to a powerful dramatic outing from the climax of a Hindi film as Tusshar not just managed to showcase his prowess over the language, he also ended up earning quite a few brownie points from Vinay and Ranvir as well. The cherry of the cake was when after the drama, Dollyji walked upto Tusshar and patted his back in front of the crowd and said, "Yeh hai mera aasli puttar" and hugged him. Said Tusshar, "Vinay and Ranvir are great guys and today it is due to them that I not only have a new language in my kitty but a motherly figure as well. Mummyji has been a great tutor.

Because of her persistence with me, I could take on these two gentlemen into their own backyard. After managing to live life as a mute young man in the 'Golmaal' series, I can now take on anyone in Punjabi as well." The film is produced by Eros International and co-produced by Multi Screen Media Motion Pictures. MSM Motion Pictures will mark their debut as producer with his film. The film is set to release on 26th July.
