A range of singers and lyricists like Krishna Chaitanya make this album a good one to follow on the tracks.
Nacchinte Ye Panima
Artist: Arijith Singh
Lyricist: Krishna Kanth
Sunny MR of Swamy Ra Ra fame strikes back with his irreverent style of music. Arjith Singh gets the vocals right, opt for a young hero like Chai. Krishna Kanth’s lyrics mirror the psyche of the protagonist. The song could be on the chartbusters for some time to come.
Okkariki Okaram
Artists: Shalmali Kholgadde, Nivas
Lyricist: Sreemani
Sreemani pens apt lyrics mirroring the mentality of the love birds. The musician sets the mood in a distinct zone by preferring to concentrate on zany instrumentation. Shalmali Kholgadde and Nivas have a style of their own that fits the bill for a song of this flavor.
The instrumentation works better than the tuning. Watch out for the RR work.
Raana
Artists: Arijith Singh
Lyricist: Krishna Kanth
The lyrics are laced with arousing literature. Krishna Kanth doesn’t pretend with high-sounding words for the sake of it. In this, he reaches out to the new generation. Arjith Singh repeats his good performance of Nacchinte Ye Panima. The song works both situationally and otherwise.
Hayi Hayi
Artists: Arijith Singh
Lyricist: Krishna Chaitanya
The romantic number induces a sense of déjà vu. It is a rip-off and even the singer doesn’t help in adding any semblance of freshness. Krishna Chaitanya’s profound lyrics are in the traditional mould. The musician again uses his skills at improvisation. It is like listening to an Illayaraja song under the direction of Shekar Kammula.
Aanati Devadasu
Artists: Shalmali Kholgade, Sunny MR
Lyricist: Krishna Chaitanya
This one is the best so far in terms of conceptualization and rendition. Krishna Chaitanya’s lyrics are laced with everyday language and even crude. That is the strength of this item song with a difference. It’s like a dozen Silk Smithas seducing in competition with Sunny Leone. Shalmali Kholgade will long remember this song as the one which gave her an opportunity to display her singing skills. Sunny MR rocks with his music.
What is this Bossu
Artists: Andony Sasan; Sunny MR
Lyricist: Krishna Chaitanya
This one is again not in the run-of-the-mill mould. Andony Sasan and Sunny MR deliver unusual rendition apt for the feel of the song. Krishna Chaitanya tries to be different, ably assisted by the director’s conceptualization. The music lends itself for good choreography for sure.
He is Mr. Mosagadu
Artists: Mark Thomas
Lyricist: Krishna
This one is on a high for sure. The album entertains in an ascending order. Mark Thomas’s rendition is good but Krishna’s lyrics take the cake. The instrumentation is top-notch and one has to watch out for two things: RR and visualization.
Dohchey
Artists: Shalmali Kholgade, Sunny MR
Lyricist: Krishna Chaitanya
The title song fits the bill. The musician understands the genre and delivers an apt output. As a situational song, it works. It doesn’t work as a listen separate from the film. The imitative mood could have been best avoided. The singers pass muster.
Villain
Artists: Partha Sarathy (Parthu)
Lyricist: Krishna Chaitanya
Krishna Chaitanya shows his potential yet again. Helped by the director’s conceptual versatility, he pens entertaining lyrics that are not corrupted in meaning. Parthasarathy’s vocals are apt.
Verdict: A good album with at least four good numbers. Much depends on the visualization. Sunny MR dishes out a range of genres with ease, although a little dose of already-heard is there.
