D2 has opened to full houses all over with majority of reviews being good and word of mouth being positive as well. While there are all indications of the first week collections being record breaking, what comes as a surprise is the Hrithik-Ash kissing controversy which is also getting its own share of (unwanted) limelight.

High on superlative stunts and some breathtaking moments, what D2 may have been least dependent for a success was a kiss between its lead actors. But instead one sees even national newspapers covering the sequence and so-called Bachchan family disapproval about it while splashing it on Page 1.

Needless to say, the entire episode is being dismissed as a publicity stunt since a) it is impossible to believe that no one in the project except for the makers and two leads in question were aware about the scene and b) it is hardly a big deal in current times for a film to feature a kissing scene.

Agreed that the lady in question of Ash but then this is not the first time for her on-screen since her lip lock with Viveik Oberoi in 'Kyun..Ho Gaya Naa'.

All this makes one wonder if D2 really need a kissing controversy, especially when the film is anyways doing so great for itself, with or without the scene?
