Mollywood actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has thrown a hint that Megastar Chiranjeevi owns the remake rights of the Malayalam blockbuster 'Lucifer'. "What an absolute gem of a man! Humility and grace personified. I’m thrilled that you bought the rights to #Lucifer and will forever be sorry that I couldn’t take up your offer to be part of #SyeRaa sir!" Prithviraj tweeted out last night.
'Lucifer', an action drama, was released in Telugu as a dubbed film in March. Starring Mohanlal, the film is directed by Prithviraj. It was a big hit in Malayalam but didn't become a noticeable performer in Telugu.
It's not clear why Chiru owns the film's remake rights. Does he plan to do its remake? If yes, when is it going to happen? Chiru is scheduled to do a film each with Koratala Siva and Trivikram Srinivas. It may take a couple of years before 'Lucifer' gets remade. His comeback film, 'Khaidi No. 150', was the remake of a Tamil movie named 'Kaththi'.
