The Gulbarga University has selected Dada Saheb Phalke award winner ace cameraman V K Murthy and actor cum politician Mukya Mantri Chandru for honorary doctorate degrees and the decision as approved by the Karnataka Governor Hansaraj Bharadwaj on Friday.

The wife of Dr Vishnuvaradhan and top actress of yesteryears in Kannada, Hindi, and Tamil films Smt Bharathi Vishnuvaradhan has also been recommended for the honorary doctorate by Karnataka Open University, Mysore. The clearance is awaited.

The Gulbarga University function is taking place on 17th of this month.

It was the wish expressed by Dr Vishnuvaradhan that Bharthi his wife is long due to get many awards. He disclosed this to the media when he invited them for lunch at the time of release of ‘Ballari Naga’.
