But this will daze you: a doctor in Andhra Pradesh actually did operate on the wrong unaffected leg of an accident victim. The doctor belongs to BIRRD, a Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam run hospital in Andhra Pradesh.

Fortunately, the patients’s friend himself was a doctor who brought the matter to light. Following this,the victim’s family approached the hospital authorities demanding justice. “We have already issued orders to suspend the doctors and no other patient should face such a situation ever again,” Sudhakar Yadav, TTD board chairman said.

Even though the victim has been promised that the error would be rectified, what about the emotional trauma that the family may have to go through. Well, next time you’re showing up atyour doc’s just make sure he’s really credible.
