Actor Thavasi, who has been known for acting in numerous movies since Kizhakku Cheemaiyile and became a part of a meme template with his comic act in Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam has been affected by cancer, and his recent photos in affected state turned viral, saddening netizens.

Thavasi had been admitted in hospital and had been looking for financial support, and Doctor Saravanan has been treating him. With financial support coming from his co-stars like Siva Karthikeyan and Soori and many others, now Doctor Saravanan has opened up on his health condition.

Doctor Saravanan has said that Thavasi has been suffering from oesophagus cancer, and had a block as the cancer was in advanced stage. The block has been removed, and a oesophageal stent has been placed which helps him intake liquid food now, and chemotherapy is being done as well. Doctor Saravanan also said that continuous treatment has to be done for 6 months, and his health condition has turned better than before, and is out of danger now.
