It's a case of a murderer cleverly using the social media account of his victim to fool the world that the latter is still alive. It has happened in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur.
Dr. Dharmendra Pratap Singh had reportedly killed his ex-wife Rakhi Srivastava in Nepal this June. He and his two accomplices threw her off a cliff after administering a sedative. Rakhi died immediately.
After the murder, Dharmendra took charge of Rakhi's Facebook account and started giving fake updates. Rakhi's second husband and family kept believing that she was in Guwahati in Assam.
There came a point when they grew suspicious. A special team was instituted to probe the murder. When the police interrogated Dharmendra consistently after taking several clues, he spilled the beans.
The special team had to go to Nepal to find out if there was any murder that happened in Pokhra town. Upon further investigation, they found out that the body was indeed of Rakhi.
