The high-powered governing council of the DMK is to meet today in Chennai under the leadership of its working president M.K. Stalin.
Farmers in the State are feeling disappointed and uneasy as the Centre didn't make any announcement on the last day (yesterday) to set up a Cauvery Management Board, as stipulated by the Supreme Court in its February 16 verdict. As already announced by the DMK, its governing council is to meet this morning (Friday) in Chennai to take stock of the scenario.
All governing council members are to take part in the meeting today to be held at the sprawling 'Anna Arivalayam', the party's headquarters in Chennai.
The meeting assumes significance as the DMK had announced a few days back that its cadres were ready for the 'jail-bharo' (filling up prisons) agitation to force the Centre to set up the Cauvery Management Board to ensure fair distribution of Cauvery water among Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry and Karnataka.
