IT Raid at DMK treasurer Durai Murugan's house!

A fresh controversy has erupted in Tamil Nadu state politics with the Income Tax raids that are in progress in the residence and educational institutions owned by DMK treasurer and party senior member Duraimurugan. As per reports, starting from early morning 3 AM today, the officials from Income Tax department have been involved in the raids.
His residence located in Katpadi, Vellore district, Kingston Engineering college owned by him, Duraimurugan B.Ed college in Katpadi were among the properties of the senior DMK member being raided by Income tax officials. Three officials from the IT Department have been carrying on the searches.
As per the information from DMK camp, it has been said that the officials wanted to search the house and had warrants for regarding cash movements but they were under Arakkonam jurisdiction, and this was not right to use the warrant to search Duraimurugan's properties. The officials were sent out after they were not carrying proper documents, but later Deepan, Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax arrived on spot following which there was a heated argument between party cadre and him, and this has been called as a politically motivated raid.
