Since last Saturday, Income Tax raids were happening in full swing in the residence and educational institutions owned by DMK treasurer and senior member of the party Duraimurugan, and today there has been a major breakthrough as the IT officials have reportedly seized crores of money.

Earlier, Duraimurugan and his son Kathir Anand had filed a case against the raids calling them as politically motivated and disrupting election campaigns, and today, in the raids conducted in DMK members Pooncholai Srinivasan and Perumal's residences where the IT Officials have seized money. 

Raids are conducted in the educational institutions of Duraimurugan, and there are information making rounds that money has been seized from the premises of the educational trust owned by him. Besides, 5 crores cash has been seized from the residence of Ashgar Ali, who works as an assistant of Duraimurugan.
