DMK petitions COI on dispute about number of doctors who treated Jaya

The DMK has petitioned the Justice Arumuga Swamy-led Commission of Inquiry (COI), which has just commenced a detailed probe into the mysterious demise of former Tamil Nadu chief-minister J. Jayalalitha, about the conflicting reports of the number of doctors who treated the former chief-minister during her 75-day long hospitalization at Apollo Hospitals from 22nd September till 05th December last year.
Jayalalitha was declared as 'dead' by Apollo Hospital after she was 'taken care' of by her former aide Sasikala, who is now cooling her heels at the Parappana Agrahara Prison in Bangalore after getting a 4-year long jail term in the misappropriation of assets case. Both the AIADMK faction led by OPS (at that time) and the opposition DMK pointed to the various ‘loopholes’ in the entire episode and demanded inquiry.
Justice Swamy said some time back that those willing to give information/data to the COI on Jayalalithaa’s demise could do so by 22nd November. The DMK has now petitioned the COI on the issue; Saravanan, nominated by the party to contest from Tirupparankundram, has filed the petition stating that the medical bulletins issued by Apollo Hospitals differed from its own comprehensive medical report released later.
There is also contraction on the number of doctors who treated Jayalalithaa; Dr. Balaji’s name is missing from the list of doctors who treated her, he said. The form nominating AIADMK candidates should mandatorily have 20 LTIs whereas the form which was reportedly ‘seen’ by Jayalalithaa had 28 LTIs which should also be enquired into, Saravanan’s petition said.
