Leader of the opposition and working president of the DMK, M K Stalin had filed a petition in the Madras High Court, challenging the trust vote that took place in the Assembly on Saturday.
After the Speaker denied a secret ballot, ruckus erupted in the House, leading to the expulsion of the DMK from the trust vote. The vote of confidence ended up in Edapadi Palanisamy proving a majority of 122 MLAs, to become the CM of Tamil Nadu.
DMK's plea challenging the trust vote's validity came to hearing in the HC today. The Court has adjourned the case to the 27th of February, and has asked the petitioners to submit a video of the ruckus in the assembly.
