Former Chief Minister and DMK President M.Karunanidhi is taking bed rest for over a month now. The nonagenarian politician had to get admitted in the hospital for a quite a few times in the recent months for multiple health complications.

The leader hailed as the most active politician of Tami Nadu has been confined to bed and he is allegedly not able to talk with or recognise people. For the first time in the history of his political career, he did not attend the DMK General Council meeting held in January 2017. M.K.Stalin was announced as the Working President of the party owing to the prolonged illness of his father.

Karunanidhi's active presence in the political scene is missed by everyone in the state that too at a time when the ruling AIADMK party is divided under two power centres.

A majority of ruling party MLAs are confined within the walls of a resort for over five days now, It is indeed sad that at this juncture, Karuna who is serving his 13th term as an MLA and a politician who would never miss an opportunity to express his thoughts on each and every political development in the country is not even able to send statements to the press and share them in social media where he was pretty active until his health condition thwarted him to be so.

There were various rumors spreading in social media and some sections of mainstream media too about Karunanidhi's health.

Putting them to rest. J.Anbazhagan, the DMK MLA of Triplicane constituency has announced that his 'Thalaivar" will be meeting the people next month.This assurance comes as a good news for Tamil people especially the DMK party cadres.
