DMK party leader and veteran screenwriter in Kollywood, M.Karunanidhi has been a lifetime member of the South Indian Artists Association (Nadigar Sangam). As his membership was stated as honarary post,the nonagenarian politician's name was not included in the voters list and he could not vote in the elections for the key administrative posts of the Sangam. held last year.

But now the new administration team lead by President Nasser and General Secretary Vishal has has passed a resolution in its Executive council to change the Membership of Karunanidhi as a Lifetime Member with voting rights. Which means the dialogue writer of super hit black and white films like 'Parasakthi', 'Manohara'. 'Mandhiri Kumari' and many other films can henceforth cast his vote in the elections of the Nadigar Sangam.

It is worth noting that the Tamil thespian apart from writing screenplay and dialogues for many Tamil films has acted in Tamil dramas in his early days and a predominant members of the Nadigar Sangam are drama artists.
