The Madras High Court had directed the CBI to probe a corruption allegation case levelled against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Pazhaniswamy. The DMK organizing secretary RS Bharathi had filed the case in which he has claimed that the Chief Minister had misused his power and allocatted 5 highway laying projects to contractors supposedly his benamis and relatives. The projects were said to be worth rupees 3500 Crores.

The Madras High Court transferred the case to the CBI after the directorate of vigilance and anti-corruption unit of Tamil Nadu gave a clean chit to EPS. The reason the judge AD Jagadish Chandra ordered the CBI probe is in the interest of justice and to ensure fair and free investigation.

The DMK chief M.K. Stalin is urgin EPS to quit his post following the allegations and his party has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court seeking an order that their side should be heard if an appeal is made. The petition also sought that no order should be passed withouth the DMKs arguments.
