DMDK President Vijayakanth has once again been hospitalized, this time at Myatt Hospital in Chennai, citing health concerns. Following a three-week stint in the hospital earlier, he had returned home on the 12th and actively participated in the DMD general committee meeting. However, recent developments have led to his readmission.

According to a press release by DMUDIKA, "National Progressive Dravida Kazhagam President Vijayakanth was brought to the hospital for a routine check-up after 15 days. He is in perfect health. After the examination, he will return home the day after tomorrow."

Vijayakanth, a leader of the DMDK, has been grappling with health issues for the past few years, necessitating periods of rest at home. Having undergone a kidney transplant, he has been undergoing regular hospital check-ups. On the 18th of last month, he was admitted to Myatt Hospital in Manappak, near Guindy, Chennai, due to symptoms such as cough, fever, and chills.

During this recent hospitalization, he was placed in the intensive care unit (ICU) and received artificial respiration at times due to difficulties in breathing. Pulmonologists closely monitored and treated him, resulting in a positive trajectory in his health. Notably, Vijayakanth was discharged from the hospital on the 12th, marking progress in his recovery.

As the leader's health continues to be a focal point of concern, his supporters and well-wishers are hopeful for a swift and complete recovery. His fans and supporters experienced restless nights not too long ago when he was hospitalized. During that challenging period, unfounded rumors of his demise spread like wildfire on social media, casting a pall of sorrow over everyone. However, his wife, Premalatha, steadfastly dismissed these rumors, assuring the public that Vijayakanth would return, hale and hearty. Her resolute announcement provided a glimmer of hope and alleviated the concerns that had gripped his admirers, ultimately restoring a sense of optimism and relief among the dedicated followers of the esteemed leader.
