Actor Sathyaraj’s daughter Divya is one of the leading nutritionists in the country and has also been known for voicing out her opinion in various social issues.

Before few years, Divya Sathyaraj had written a letter to the prime minister's office where she had criticised the NEET exams and the letter turned viral. Divya has started a people’s movement named Mahilmadhi iyakkam to provide nutritious food to people of lower income group and had requested the minister of agriculture to provide direct income support to the small farmers who have been facing loss due to the Coronavirus lockdown.

Recently Divya Sathyaraj had made a strong statement against the Rath yatra which was planned in TamilNadu calling it an irresponsible move to plan a huge religious procession in the Covid pandemic situation. She has said that as a nutritionist she was always concerned about public health. Social distancing is significant at the moment and conducting the rath yatra is against public well being. Divya Sathyaraj added that she stands by what she had said, and has condemned the rath yatra during the pandemic which is against public safety, and has strongly said that she will not apologise for her statement.
