Divya Dutta is not too happy with the way her role has shaped up in Khalid Mohamed's "Silsiilay".

"I had seen Khalid's earlier films - 'Fiza' and 'Tehzeeb'. They offered great opportunities for female actors.

So when he offered me a role in 'Silsiilay' I gladly took up the part of Bhoomika Chawla's sister. I was given to understand that it would be a substantial part.

"I worked hard on the character's accent and such other details. It all seemed to go well. But now my role is reduced to almost nothing!" says an appalled Dutta.

Apparently a lot of Divya's scenes were chopped off keeping the film's length in mind.

"Why am I the only one who's dished out with this treatment? This isn't the first time, though I wish it was the last," says the actress.

"I've never believed in the length of a role. I feel pained when I'm offered supporting roles, but such has been the trend of my career.

"But now I try to make space within the role that's offered to me. In fact, this is what I did in 'Veer-Zaara' and it completely changed my career!" she says.

The actress is all set to marry her fiance.

"But not in the near future. I'm not leaving until I get a chance to prove my worth. With 'Veer-Zaara' I feel my second innings has started," says Dutta confidently.
