Bollywood is not leaving any stones unturned when it comes to showcase the talents, the change that has come in the industry in the past few years and marketing itself abroad.
From April 22 to 27, Sahara-One Motion Pictures Mumbai Cutting A City Unfolds will be one proud film to present itself at the closing ceremony of the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFlA).
This festival is conducted for the promotion of Indian films abroad and to varied kinds of films coming out from India. The venue for the film festival is the ArcLight Hollywood.
Sahara-One made Mumbai Cutting utilizing the talents and views of a whole lot of acclaimed film makers who represents every part of India. The film is one big combination of 11 short films directed by 11 directors, some of whom are Rituparno Ghosh, Kundan Shah, Jananu Barua, Manish Jha, Aurag Kashyap, Sudhir Mishra, Revathi, Rahul Dholakia etc ..
The story is urban centric and tells different tales of the metro life and spirit of Mumbai-the city of opportunities.
Overall this film is going to be one big canvas showcasing various styles of film making expressing different stories melting into one show reel about the city-Mumbai.
With music ranging from the very famous Inidan Ocean, Euphoria, Sanjeev Shrivastav, Fuzon and other composers the richness of the traditional Indian classical music styles, the Indi pop, Hindi Rock, and the different contemporary styles all can be experienced from this single film.
Mumbai Cutting .. A City Unfolds has Jimmy Shergil, Ranveer Sheorey, Raima Sen, Rahul Dev, Soha Ali Khan, Sonali Kulkarni among others displaying their skills for different directors.
Sahara has done a great job by bringing together all these talented creators and actors for a single project. Lets hope this bold experiment leaves Los Angeles asking for a diet of more Indian films.
