Film distributors associated with Tollywood have met with the Film Chamber of Commerce and placed their demands. They want the Non-Returnable Advance system to be scrapped. At least, this is the demand of a majority of them.

They are in favour of a system where the arrangement is outright (100% is born by the distributors and when a film makes profits, they will exclusively pocket the profits). If not, they want a 100% Recoverable Advance system in place. A commission of 5-20% will be charged.

The percentage basis works differently in the case of multiplexes. The distributors want a 60%-40% division.

The distributors are also in favour of at least an 8-week gap between theatrical and OTT releases. In case this norm is violated, the producer will have to compensate the distributors to the tune of 30% of the investment made.

The meeting had in attendance these distributors: Asian Suniel Narang, Sirish, Abhishek Nama, Mutyala Ramdas, Veeri Naidu, Bharath Chowdhary, and others.

The next meeting will be held on Aug 16.
